Day 5 – All roads lead to Cap Gris – Nez
Most concerning stat for the day is that Australia is beating us!!
They had lower mortality rates over the last 20 years for both men and women than New Zealand. Maybe Vegemite really is good for you?
Despite the banner pic, today the project is beginning to take a single direction! It has been an excellent day of exploration. Data exploration that is!
There is always interesting, intriguing stories in data. Leads, hints and tantalising glimpses. Some people liken data exploration as jumping down a rabbit hole… I think it is more like exploring a new fascinating city. Each street is a mystery, and what I am looking for could be just around the next corner!
Who would have thought that your chance of living to 60 is higher in the middle eastern countries of Kuwait and Qatar, than exotic island destinations like The Seychelles or The Bahamas.
I am a little concerned to see that in not one high income economy country do men have a higher chance than women of living to 60… good reason to be nicer to your husband? If you are looking for a long marriage, head to San Marino or wait for it, Iceland!
I guess the key to exploring any new place, if you want to get somewhere, is a good map. So I’ve been keeping an eye on the plan, which for this week is putting together a draft dashboard of three key pieces of interesting, meaningful data.
