OptimalBI presents the

ENSEMBLE LOGICAL MODELLING WORKSHOP

The ELM workshop is an interactive, facilitated, business-driven design session over 2 days.

The next ELM workshop will be held in Auckland on November 11-12, 2019.

Just email hey@optimalbi.com to find out more and to register.

What is ELM?

ELM is a structured way to gather the business concepts (and relationships) from the organisation.  This results in a logical model used for easy communications in the organisation and getting everyone on the same page (concerning concepts, meaning and semantics).  Also the resulting ELM model is the foundation (backbone) for a Data Vault model that can be used to structure and store data for an agile enterprise data integration initiative (such as the EDW).  We found that using the ELM processes and artifacts can be very useful in the process to get to a well modelled and documented Data Warehouse.

I’m Data Vault Certified, how is the ELM workshop different?

For people who did the Data Vault certification in 2019 there is a very small overlap between the ELM training and the CDVDM, less than 15%.

For people who did the CDVDM prior to 2019, the overlap is even less.

The Data Vault certification focus is completely on the modelling pattern and there is only a little bit on how to get the right information on what to model.  If you’re Data Vault certified, this course expands on your knowledge even further.
