Thumbs up SUNZ

Last week I attended the SUNZ AGM (Annual General Meeting) Networking Drinks in Auckland which was linked via Skype to the Wellington meeting. SUNZ is the official user group for New Zealand SAS users. It is dedicated to helping improve the experience of SAS users. I must give a big thumbs up to the SUNZ Committee and Sponsors. Why?
First, without the sponsors or the committee, we wouldn’t have a growing and thriving SAS user community where ideas and concepts can be shared and the opportunity to network with other SAS users.
Second, this was a good AGM. AGMs, you have to have them and they are normally a bore and I am sure many members try to avoid attending. Well, the SUNZ one was quick, the required information was disseminated, and there was food and drink on hand; what more could you want?
The committee and sponsors have ensured SUNZ is financially strong enabling it to think outside the square with events etc. They are looking at how they can have a fully engaged user community; SUNZ Auckland is already scheduled for September. It’s a great initiative to have regional conferences rather than just one national one.
And finally, I managed to see some old faces and meet some new ones while enjoying my beer and nibbles.
So Thank you SUNZ Committee and Sponsors.

Hi Barry, we are so glad you had a great time at the AGM/networking drinks in Auckland! Thank you so much for taking the time to write up the experience so beautifully – what a privilege to be mentioned in your blog!! It is positive feedback like this that keeps us wanting to put on more events and continue to innovate with how we bring the community together. Would have been nice to chat to you in person but I hear your time for the SUNZ committee was all taken up by Chris Collins. Many thanks again Barry and we look forward to seeing you at future SUNZ events 🙂
